Status Information
Your :wave has a collection of status displays that provide useful information about its current setup. The status displays include:
Main Screen
The main screen is displayed when you are not using the :wave to view other status displays or to access menu options. If your :wave is currently displaying a menu screen or a selection screen, you can display the main screen by using the control knob to make your selections. When you finish with the menu screens, the :wave shows the main screen.
You can use the main screen to view:
- The current timecode that is used by the :wave
- The mode of the :wave (see Set the Timecode Data)
- The RF channel that is used by the :wave
- A battery icon that shows the amount of battery charge remaining.
Version Number and Serial Number
If you contact Timecode Systems technical support, you may be asked to provide the serial number of your :wave. You may also be asked what version of the firmware your :wave is running. To find this information:
- Display the Main Screen.
- Turn the control knob to scroll to the screen that shows :wave at the top.
The S1Wvc value is the version number of the firmware that is installed on your :wave.
The Ser.No value is the serial number of your :wave unit.
Power and Battery
You can view the amount of charge remaining in the battery on the main screen or on the dedicated Power and Battery screen. The Power and Battery screen also provides information about any external power source, such as a mains charger.
- Display the Main Screen.
- Turn the control knob to scroll to the Power and Battery screen.
The Power value shows the status of the external power supply (EXT-OFF means there is no external power supply, EXT-OK means there is an external power supply).
The Battery value is a 5 bar icon that shows the battery charge (1 bar being low, 5 bars being maximum charge).
Wi-Fi Status
You can use your :wave's Wi-Fi status screen to find out if it has Wi-Fi enabled, and its IP address and network ID. This information is useful when diagnosing Wi-Fi connection problems.
- Display the Main Screen.
- Turn the control knob
The status entries are:
- WiFi shows the Network Type being used for Wi-Fi. This is either Soft AP or Infrastructure (see Set the Wi-Fi Network Type.
- Status indicates whether the :wave is ready to communicate via Wi-Fi. The status is either Ready or Off.
- IP is the internet protocol address that has been assigned to the :wave. This is a unique address used to identify the :wave when communicating via the internet protocol.
- ID is the :wave's network identity number, which is used to identify the :wave in the BLINK network (see Set the Wi-Fi Channel).

BNC Sync Status
You can use the BNC Sync status screen to find out what settings are in place for the TC/SYNC output port (BNC). These are the settings that your :wave uses for sending word clock, genlock, and possibly timecode signals to your sound mixer/camera.
- Display the Main Screen.
- Turn the control knob to scroll to the BNC Sync O/P status screen.
The Mode indicates the type of output signal (in the image shown, a PAL genlock signal to a camera). The Level indicates the O/P mode and is either Normal or High. If the Mode is correct, but your camera or sound mixer/recorder is not receiving a signal, it may have the incorrect Level set.
